A Spitfire part to identify

Allegedly a bit of Spitfire X4110

Anyone care to hazard a guess at which bit?

For scale, it is about 3″

I prefer Paul’s explanation….but, sadly, I’m going with Rocketeer.

Looks like the structure and spacer used to mount the undercarriage hand pump to me….horribly au fait with that area!

Looks more like alloy rather than steel? And that green looks very much to be cockpit interior green.

Spit bit

Piece (corner) of armour plate with one of the mounting bolts and spacers still attached?
