Well today I visited North Weald, what a supurb place ! whilst there for the ceremony to dedicate the new gate guard, I took the oportunity to wander around taking photos of as many aircraft as I could, below is a selection of many hundreds, should you want something in particular, just shout I may have one, so many Yak’s and JP’s all in one place ?

pagen01.I am so glad you mention the DC-4 / C-54’s, Of all of the diverse aircraft at North Weald, these two are my favourites ! if those 6 numbers came up for me I would own them !!! As for the Basset, I know nothing ? One thing I look for with seemingly ‘abandoned’ aircraft is state of the inflation of the tyres ! each of these seems to have some pressure, so I assume they are getting some ‘TLC’ from someone who loves them ????
I hope you like these photos as much as I do ….. Keith.

Nice pics Keith, what’s the story with the Basset and DC-4s? One of them looks a lot worse than when I saw it last!

G-AOLK
Just checking G-INFO, the Prentice has a current C of A.
It appears to have been owned by the same person since 1971, which must be some kind of record!
Impressive rudder lock. 😮

The Gnat at the rear of the hangar is XP540/8606M and I think the JP is G-BXBH/XM365, but as I have not been over for a few weeks can’t be certain.
The Airdale G-ARNP is currently at Spanhoe having its annual so would not have been present last weekend.

Jon H. Sorry just too many JP’s in all states of repair ! have no idea of ID on that one behind the chippe ( when you realy meant to say ZLIN 536 ?);). Have found another photo, in same hangar, of another JP almost complete!!! Keith.

It’s a b****r whhen you don’t recognise an aircraft especially a type you’ve flown in (at least a 326).
Yes the status of the Prentice looks a little dubious, not too sure I’d want to risk my life of that of any of my fammily in her.

BlueRobin. I assume you are talking about Beagle/Auster Airedale ? If so I have trawled through my photos of the day, and see nothing that resembles an Airedale ( that was trycycle wasn’t it ?) if it was there and didn’t move I would have snapped it, unless it was hidden in a hangar !

The Airedale is there. It’s the favoured aerial carriage up to Spanhoe to collect the Alcyon!
The Prentice is airworthy, though whether worthy is the right word is debatable.
Nice to see Angie flying Charlie Papa.

Is the Airedale still there?

Is the Prentice airworthy?(or ever likely to be?). I don’t know what it is but the Yak 18T has always apealed to me somehow. What Type is G-TINY? I’ve never seen one of those before or if I have not from that angle.
