I took Mrs Ren down to GLA this morning at 7am to book in for her long journey to Sydney. She was supposed to be on the 0905 Bmi to LHR, then a quick change to make Singapore Airlines 744 to Singapore, followed by a another Singapore 777 to Sydney in a day or two. I decided to catch a shot of her Bmi A321 flight as I had time to kill after saying goodbyes. The light was great and I caught more than I bargained for…
First up was this departing Aer Lingus 146 in the golden morning sun… I flew on this to Dublin last year at the start of my journey to Los Angeles…

Ok, all three now officially rejected, mibbe I’ll set the camera at the top quality setting next time ?

I sent three to A.net to give them a go. Two got rejected and one is through to stage two screening. The rejected ones made it onto their new site for A.net rejects www.myaviation.net. It’s actually quite a good site, considering it’s for the pics A.net knocks back and it rejects know one.
Take a look 😉

It was Plane Pictures that knocked them back, I’m waiting for a reply from A.net about the one I’ve sent so far.

Cheers Dan,
I just had a look at my 10D and realised I haven’t been shooting in large/fine mode but one step down from there. I sent a 1024×683 copy of the My Travel half length piccie on this thread to A.net. I’ll wait and see what happens.

Great shots there ren!
Its a 10D your using isn’t it Ren?
You should be able to get them on to airliners.net no problem. If you shoot in large / fine jpg mode, use photoshop elements to (possibly crop a bit if needed), re-size to 1024 x 683 and add a little unsharp mask (not sharpen more).
Should get accepted no problem.

Great photos as per usual. It’s definitely not the end of the world if Airliners.net refuse photographs. They accept the visually boring ones because they are good quality. These are great and it’s not your loss if they aren’t accepted, but that of Airliners.net. 🙂
Yeah I’ve noticed that Plane Pictures have only accepted my full length shots and none of the half length or close up shots which I prefer. They cite esthetic reasons for not taking the close ups which only tells me that they have limited imagination. I was also surprised to have some dusk type shots rejected because they felt it was too dark ! personally I thought that was the whole point ?

Luckily for Mrs Ren her job takes her around the world to places like Los Angeles, Sydney and Liverpool ?
😉
My job on the other hand affords me the opportunity to regularly travel to the exotic parts of Scotland such as Dundee, Perth and if I’m very lucky Fife !:D Having said that, I’m off to Oban for a week this weekend to film the Whisky Olympics, i.e The Mod (gaelic singing contest) followed by a weekend in Inverness filming the hockey sticks massacre (Scotland V Ireland Shinty Tournament) Life just get’s too good sometimes. My only chance of a foreign trip this year or next will either be if Scotland qualify for Euro 2004 or Celtic / Rangers end up in the Uefa cup and go on an extended run like last year.
Mrs Ren phoned me from Raffles, Singapore after a few “slings” to say the flight with Singapore Airlines was excellent and the cabin crew were amazingly good looking, making her and the rest of the female passengers suitably jealous. 😀

Excellant pics Ren, how come you didn’t get to go to SYD with Mrs Ren too? Hope she had good flights with SIA, I flew with them last year and they were excellant……I remember the old ad they used to have….Singapore girl, that’s showing my age!!!!!

I couldn’t get a decent shot of her, it’s the first HS748 I’ve personally seen at GLA for about 20 years just about.

She can’t stand aviation which is why she didn’t even blink when I told her she’d be on a 744 and 777 on her journey. She doesn’t like rugby either. She has in fact gone to produce a documentary series for the BBC about sexually transmitted diseases ! It’s called Sex, Warts and All.
Any of you antipodean forum regulars with experience of the subject matter should get in touch ! 😀
And BTW I haven’t put any pictures on A.net, although I did manage to get a few accepted on plane pictures after a couple of try’s.

Is she as much an aviation enthusiast as you? Yeah SYD is awesome, she going to see the rugby, is that why shes going?
