That’s a British summer’s day as in dark/cloudy/overcast/windy & trying to rain a couple of times. The plus side was that it wasn’t cold. A lot of activity as Duxford staff and contractors were busy preparing the museum site for the Sally-B & Friends event on Sunday. The French Skyraider has had it’s starboard wing removed and a team from its home base had the sharp bits secured in bubble wrap and they also gave the Skyraider a good clean. The Afghan Hind fuselage in Hangar 3 now has a pair of proper wheels on it and the Fury was receiving some TLC after its engine runs the last couple of days. Apart from Classic Wings and a few civilian visitors there wasn’t much else flying apart from Cliff Spink in the Stearman who did a few circuits and the Catalina departing for Newcastle, and I presume the Sunderland air show, returning on Sunday. Many thanks to the TFC engineers for a quick visit over the ropes.

Always nice to see what’s happening around DX. Thanks.
Quick question, how come we never see the T-28s at Legends? There seem to be a myriad of examples across Europe and it seems a somewhat missed oppourtunity to not have them taking part. They are from the right era after all.

The picture of the bi-planes and hurricane inside a period hanger on a wartime airfield. What is that, a 100 years of aviation history? It’s a privilege to be able to experience that today.
Well said. Beautiful photo, that.

Not “dark/cloudy/overcast/windy [or] trying to rain” down here in Cornwallcestershire – may pop to Davidstow Museum and stand next to the Gannet singing my Gannet song!!!!!
