A Tony to fly ??!!??!!

Have a look at the link below. Unfortunately not much detail given.

http://www.sam.hi-ho.ne.jp/ki-44/english/data/Ki-61-e%20restora.htm

I knew about the recovery of the front fuselage section, but all the rest is new to me.

Can anybody (downunder ?) give more detail about this Classic Jet Fighter Museum incredible project ?

Call me mad, but I swear those pictures show an etire fuselage, plus main wing, all in the same hangar.

the tony that the classic jets museum has is a front fuselage section only and I dont think there is any intention to restore it. www.classicjets.com has all about their p38 restoration but nothing on their tony.
the photos in the above link look like at the former air world hanger which is now being set up as the pacific fighter museum, they have loaned a tony for display. not sure if its the one though.

It would be nice to see one fly though, come on admit it, you’d have no objections either!

I’m not sure that this project is to airworthy standard. The same museum has a P38 recovered from the same source and this is being rebuilt to static condition only. If I remember rightly, all the Classic Jet Fighter Museum’s aircraft are non-airworthy.
