I have even been asked for ID… for christ sake, don’t they
read this forum? 😀I have heard talk elsewhere of ID ‘badges’ for a £15 fee,
I’ll pay when BAA lower those fences and provide “photo”
opportunity holes in the fence. 🙂
£15!! 😮 Outrageous! and waht exactly are paying £15 for???
I say 50p max.! 😀

Police seem more aware of your presence there too, ‘Are you just watching the planes?’ 😮 Did it really need an answer?! 😉

They belong the top house in Lochend Road.
I doubt they will bother anyone. 🙁
Police seem more aware of your presence there too, last time we were approached by a couple of ‘friendly’ officers. 😉 Right infront of the sign saying ‘If you see anything suspicious call this number….’.
Guess what they asked??

SXM style!? 😉 The field at the 06 end also has a couple of resident dogs!
Yes, the of the canine variety! 😉 Don’t seem to friendly either! 😮

I just love the east wind and runway 06 arrivals!
One can tell BAA what to do with their 14 foot fence
and park ones car in the publicly accessible field, and get really close to the inbounds. The sort of access that makes 14 foot fences laughable. 😉

He’ll be picking up a company car at Glasgow anyway, so I don’t have to fork out extra cash for a National Express coach or something equally as ridiculous! 😀
Good Call! 😀

The Edinburgh flight was full? I am having problems getting a connection from EDI to LHR in early December.
Seems the whole world wants to fly to/from EDI.. 🙂
It wasn’t full, but I found a price with British Airways which was acceptable. I thought about it overnight and went to book it the next day but it had shot up in price.
Since my dad is on business, I’m having to pay my own fare, so I can’t afford to be splashing out. He’ll be picking up a company car at Glasgow anyway, so I don’t have to fork out extra cash for a National Express coach or something equally as ridiculous! 😀

I would certainly second that – when I went LHR – EDI in April I thought it would be fairly quiet at lunchtime but it was chock a block and the following sunday morning (18th April) I thought an 11.05 Ryanair flight to Dublin would be quiet but again it was full up. Still – on a positive note – full aircraft is good business for my favourite airport and spotters. 😉
Pity Emirates didn’t tumble it? 😎
I was looking at the runway layout today, I reckon another
500 metres could be added, 400 at the 06 end and 100
at the 24 end. The extra length need not affect tha ILS or
Glideslope…it would basically be starter/braking
strips.. 😉 😀

Edi has some of the best spotting oppertunities of any airport when it comes to spotting outwith the airport complex. 🙂
Just imagine one of those open double deckers parked
at Spocks Sandy! 😀

LOL! I’m suprised that the pilots don’t know who you are yet?! You’re there all the time!
I did meet one on a flight a while back, joked about
page 3 shots in front of the female purser.

Lovely photos Silver Snapper! I’m loving that EasyJet one.
I swear the No1 on that flight waved! The flight Deck
crews must be getting accustomed to me. 😮

Very nice!
I’m going to Edinburgh for three days on 26 July. Unfortunately, since I left booking my ticket a little late, I had to book a flight to Glasgow instead. Saving a good £15 by doing it this way.

Absolutely fantastic photos. 🙂
Thanks LBA… I missed the emergency Loganair landing,
the flight from Kirkwall had instrument problems
evidently…everything was fine however..

Just passed EDI. Futura 738, Iberworld A320, Air Europa 738, First Choice 752, Britannia 763 were on stand, never seen so many charter airlines at EDI! 😉 The special ‘Brandenburg’ CSA 735 was there as well on the international front.
Certainly busier since Direct Holidays started local holiday flights a few years back… seems to be a licence to print money given the gradual take-up…
Where are you now Britannia? 😉
