Following the discovery of a propeller blade in a pub at Portbury (see thread http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=95490) I recently had the opportunity to return there. I took another look at the blade but could still see no markings and the metal base to the blade was threaded but with no marks that I could detect.
However there is a museum nearby called Oakham Treasures in which were housed what appeared to be an aircraft gun turret and and a four bladed wooden propeller. There was no information on view for either item and the young lady at the cash desk (who gave permission for me to take the photos) could not help.
Not having any knowledge of such items I would be interested to learn if anyone can identify them.

I was allowed to take the photos but I didn’t think to ask if I could step over the barrier for a closer look. However I did zoom in but still couldn’t see any data.

Propeller i/d
We have a propeller very similar to the one in the pic. Ours is from a Bristol F2B.
Have a look on the hub, if you are able. It usually has stamped on it the engine type and aircraft it would have been fitted to.
If what it says doesn’t make any sense to you make a note of the details and post it on the Forum and we’ll see what we can come up with.

The turret cuppola looks like the mid-upper from a Lancaster… not sure about the propellor.
