I bet this look’s very off topic or your wondering what the hell I’m on about especially with this weather but to cool us down abit :diablo: have you ever went to the airport on some days and then realised how cold it was? you wondered why you ever bothered going? or it’s so cold you can’t even hold the camera!?
Then you view the pictures when you get home and then you realise it really was a waste of time!
This picture below was taken at BHX on last December 28th, I can’t remember how cold it was exactly but it must of been in the minus numbers, especially with the wind chill! Jon (BHXlocal) can cover for this as he was there suffering with me 😮 .

Have you got any pictures like this showing your worst spotting day ever :diablo: :dev2: 😀 .

I’m getting cold just looking at the pictures

Also I once had a thoroughly awful day at BHX. It was in November and it never really got light so I ended up taking photos using the night mode of my camera. I think that was singularly the worst spotting day for me because, unlike the ones at NCL, there was nothing good about these photos. Usually my biggest problems at BHX have been fog or heat haze but this November day topped the lot.

Yeh hopefully it should stay nice and warm up here for you 🙂
I hope so 😀 NCL tends to have similar weather to Scarborough from the photos I’ve seen on here, so if it’s nice when we leave Scarborough it should be nice in Newcastle.
When we were at NCL there was stuff I had never had chance to photograph, such as easyJet, and it was a case of getting them through the rain. There was a BritishJet as well but that is spoilt by rain.
The only slightly redeeming feature was that some of the reflections in the puddles looked effective.
And if we get good weather we might be able to see if we fly near or over Scarborough. We do get loads of traffic over here but it’s impossible to tell what.

The only successful spotting I had this year was BRU on 2nd April – a superb day and my first chance to bag the Biman DC10 as a still photo (I already had it on video).
I must have hit NCL on the worst weekend of the year for weather – when we arrived at the airport on the Thursday it was cloudy and raining. On the Friday it was heaving and when we arrived back from Brussels on the Sunday it was raining again.
I hope the weather will be better in September because I won’t get much spotting done in December.

26/01/2004 … a tad foggy
photo 1: Gate D3. For those not familiar to AMS, this is the closest spot to the observation platform. The plane at D5 could only barely be seen, and D7 was invisible.
photo 2: You should be able to see two ATC towers. You can, barely, see one of them.

I hate this picture, for obvious reasons:
Was taken this year in January.

I remember that day in the first shot…. What god damn apalling weather! Why the hell did we visit an airport!?
It’s scary for me as well, that I was with you when all those shots were taken!….
You have several screws loose as well my friend!

Bad spotting days? Ah, my special subject!
Here are 5 shots from various pointless trips to airports! The first one was taken at Yeadon Cemetary looking away from the airport, and the others are from MAN. They’re un-edited and just as they came off my camera!

I think I must have several screws loose!

Myself and Paul spent many a Friday up at LBA during January/February/March earlier this year, and the weather was absolutely apalling! Wet, Freezing cold… etc etc!
We did it all for a single 757 departure around teatime ;)… Yes, we do have a screw loose!

Now I remember that morning very well Tom! I left because I had to defrost when I got home! We aint half been in some weather at Birmingham, Blazing heat and sunshine, Freezing and icy conditions, Snow, Hail, thunderstorms even! All for our love of planes 😀
This isn’t a picture of an aircraft but it was at the airport so it counts 😎
It had just bucketed it down with rain and it was my first outing with my 350D and it got drenched 😮 This strange rainbow effect was along the taxi-way and was pretty cool to see

I quite like that picture, looks a bit moody.
How about this one for a wet day even by Manchester standards, although I was nice and dry inside the aircraft cabin. The second picture was, believe it or not, later the same day.

So much for hoping for some appauling weather pictures :D.

Same here, Sam. I always will remember going with philgatwick05 to Gatwick in January this year when it was snowing and there was a bitterly cold easterly breeze, and it wasn’t as if we could nip inside the terminal because we were at the end of 08R!

Lot’s of times Tom 🙂 shots are to bad to show though 😉
