A Week in ACE – Photo Report

And about bl00dy time too!

I got home from my week in ACE over 10 days ago now, but this is the first chance I think I’ve had to get some shots uploaded.

I spent a week there with fellow airliners.net/jetphotos.net photographer, Michael Cathpole. And what a great week! We spent the days (from sunrise til sunset) around the beaches taking shots of aircraft, then the nights out on the town getting hammered in typical British fashion!

Flew down on GB Airways. G-TTOC there, G-TTOG home. Both excellent flights. The food and service was great. Outbound was atleast 95% full, return was only 30% or so full.

Here’s a selection of shots. All pretty random from all days of the week. There may be more to follow, but this should be ok to get started with.

Thanks very much again everyone!

Shadow1 – The A320 was actually at sunrise. Hehe bet you didn’t think we were that mad, sitting there waiting for the Sun to appear above the horizon ready for our first shot 😀

Hey, Wannabe….I emailed Michael and he caught my flight landing, wonder if you caught it. It was on the 15th G-FCLB from BHX????

Here we go! I think Mike caught a better one. This shot only just kept it self out of the recycle bin. Hope you like it anyway.

Wannabe pilot, these are all incredible shots. The A310 landing is especially nice while the last picture you displayed of the A320 turning for take off with a setting sun are stunning! Great job all around! 🙂

Does that 763 have a white or light blue fuselage? Can’t tell in that sort of light.

Wow, a lot of responses. Thanks very much everyone!

Cheesebag, did you see us around the area at all while you were there? We were two guys (17 and 24), both with DSLR’s and hefty lenses.

A330-300 – As Tom pointed out, I’m using the 350D. Attatched to it is a Sigma 50-500 f4-6.3 lense.

dc10fan – They were taken through the wire fence with my smaller lense attatched. But you’re right, they were very hard to capture!

Elgan – AB were fine. But even if they weren’t, they still made me happy by the fact that they gave us a Fokker 100 when I only expected a 734!

Forgot to add another of my favourites!

Taken quite literally at sunset. Proven by the fact that you can see the Sun and the horizon, reflected in the fuselage.

These are just about 20 or 30 shots out of 800 or so that I took, so there are likely to be more at some point in the near future.

What a way to end 2005, excellent pics there Dan, one of the best of the year in my opinion. Can’t believe it was nearly 12 months since I was in Lanza but didn’t get much time to spend at the airport as Mrs Wilag kinda looked at me with that look as to say were on holiday I don’t think so.

Rgds
