No report sorry, but plenty of photos!!
Just to say….KLM are bloody brilliant, A330 and MD-11 were immaculate, and won’t hesitate to fly with them longhaul again. And I hope to move to British Columbia soon lol!
US Airways A330 leaving T2
Virgin’s 744, as usual, delayed pushing back!
Then in AMS, we flew KLM’s newest A330, PH-AOI
A fine looking machine from the airbridge!
Departing the Netherlands
Two shots of Greenland, we went up to N72 degrees, the highest i’ve been for a while!

The cabin of the A330 looking much like any A330 cabin, with Dad walking on the aisle and spoiling the shot!
A nice pictorial history of our flighplan
Arriving a damp and drab YVR, the only wet day we had, even tho it was nearly the wettest March since records began in BC 😀
Then after a super week, it was time to return. Alaskan B734 in the Disney scheme
Was quite a shock in Grater Vancouver when Harmony announced it was to finish their schedual on April 9th, and here is one of their 757’s
Air China 767, 6 hours late from Beijing!
Luthy A346 departing for FRA
AC’s Free Spirit 767
Then 90 mins late, but not affecting our departure time, our MD-11 arrived!

Sadly despite booking 6 months ago, we were assined middle seats, so grabed this vew from one of the exit door window
Then back at AMS, 4 NWA A330’s were parked

Hope you liked them, Videos of takeoffs and landings, will be uploaded as per usual to YouTube this evening!

Nice selection there: I am off to Victoria BC via Vancouver on the 17th of June flying with BA from LHR then AC Jazz to Victoria. Having seen your shots and despite the fact that I am working for a week out there I now intend packing the camera! There is supposed to be lots of seaplanes based at Victoria Harbour. Any hints and tips for photography in the area would be appreciated.
All the best
Si

Cheers gents. Sadly I didn’t get to go on a seaplane, as I spend too much of my well earned dosh in a certain Ice Hockey shop  Next time i’ll try and grab a flight to Victoria or Nanaimo!

Nice shots there!
I love those pics of the sea-planes!
I too have had the experience of flying in a seaplane, but it was in Ketchikan, Alaska. We flew to a remote island which is only inhabitated by 2,000 people, and has lots of wildlife, including black bears, which we saw!

Great photos all round, checking out some of your videos now too 🙂

I see you went to the Ice hockey game did you like it :p
Sure did! I’ve been a Canucks fan for 5 years, and they didn’t have a home game when i was there last year, but i got tickets for the Avs game, and they’ve just clinched a post season playoff spot last Wednesday, so its buzzing in the city at the moment!

Cheers James, thought you might like them!
The 1st seaplane, is owned by Harbour Air, I think they took over a rival within the last 12 months.
Salt Spring Air is based in the Gulf Islands, and fly regularly into downtown, but not like Harbour Air, which fly all day!
Thanks Mate 😎 This the airline I was on about http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1163441/L/ 😀

Did you get to see the Purser’s “Welcome on Board” video? Definitely a rather nice touch!
Cheers Mike!
I had to blink twice to see if it was her, and was quite suprised, as you say a very nice touch by them. I had a great FA on the way back, she was from Surinam, and we got chatting about the MD-11 as she sat right next to us on the way back. And the pursers on all the flights, were suprised when a Welshman, wearing a Welsh football shirt, said Hello and Good Bye in Dutch 😀
Thank god I speak Welsh, as both languages sound like one and other 😀
Sure is a fine airline!

Excellent shots, Elgan.
I’m glad you liked KLM long-haul. I must admit, I was also very surprised at their short-haul product, too. Did you get to see the Purser’s “Welcome on Board” video? Definitely a rather nice touch!
