A weekend in France

Firstly – thanks to all the guys who have posted photos from La Ferte Alais – some stunning shots !

Now,
I made the trip myself but made a long weekend of it and visited a couple of other places as well that I hope some of you will find interesting.
First batch are from the British War Cemetry at Etaples, where my uncle is buried. Taken on a very damp Friday afternoon (13th).

I’ll post some shots from Le Bourget and La Ferte shortly.

Cheers for posting them, very nice, especially the WWI stuff. Whats the blue one with ’15’ on the front? Very curious bird

…. and finally, when back in the UK, Capel La Ferne.
(Unfortunately the bad weather had caught up with me by now, so I didn’t risk the camera taking a photo of the main memorial).
Hope you have enjoyed my photo’s, I know I enjoyed the trip ! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

While travelling back home on the Monday, I decided to stop off at the memorials on each side of the channel.
Firstly, St. Omer…….

Thanks for the comment Stieglitz, and I highly recommend the museum, I was very impressed, except for the building with the two Concorde in, it was a bit too ‘busy’ and you could not see the aircraft to get decent photographs. Overall though, – Excellent.

Here’s a few more of the jets and the development aircraft.

I’ll post a few from LFA over the weekend, but they won’t be of the standard of some I’ve already seen on the forum. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

After seeing this, I feel a little shame that I haven’t visited Le Bourget yet. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Amazing aircraft.

Thanks for posting TMN.

Greets,

Stieglitz

A few from the ‘sport & recreation’ hall
Not a place to go if you have a bad headache (!), but a very original way of presenting the aircraft. (I don’t usually like seeing aircraft on poles, but this hall worked for me)

As the weather on Saturday morning was about as far away from airshow weather as could be imagined, I decided to go to the Musee de L’air at Le Bourget instead, and go to the show on Sunday.
This batch are from the ‘early years’ halls.
