My girlfriend is a teacher and she has has just told me that teachers are no longer allowed to refer to dates as BC (as in in the year 43 BC) as it can cause offense to other faiths.

Its getting sillier by the day or am I over reacting?

So therefore I am assuming that anything dated in AD is also not allowed. So how does your teacher girlfriend write the date down ?? 9th October XXXX

Perhaps we should have the amount of years since the Queen was crowned. And if that causes offence to other faiths then they might need to look at emigrating to Australia. 😀

I think its good that the religious aspect of the calendar is taken away, as there is unlikely any change for getting international calendar that isent based on lifeline of some fairytale figure.

world needs to get rid of all religions and all steps like these are welcome for the future;)

Its been that way for a while. And yes it is absurd, if you are offended by a marking of time you need to ask yourself serious questions about your life. Especially in a world where the Christian calender has become the internationally accepted one. But hey we must avoid, at all costs, upsetting the people who despise every sing one of our values and thus feel the need to randomly blow us up.:mad:

No, you’re not over-reacting in the slightest. It is silly. In fact, it goes beyond silly, it’s pathetic. Political correctness to me has basically come about as the result of people with zero ability to do anything purposeful or useful in life trying to justify their existance. Harsh, yes, but that’s just the way I feel about it!
