A Windy Day at Old Warden – 04Jul10

As has already been mentioned, the weather in Bedfordshire on Sunday was not ideal for an Air Show. Apart from the wind, which fortunately was blowing down the runway, the sun that was shining during the morning was obscured by cloud by the start of the flying, re-appearing for very short periods during the afternoon. I think the pilots did an excellent job in the very trying conditions. The one aircraft that stood out for me was the L-21b Super Cub with its 29inch Alaska bush tyres. No disrespect to the owner/pilot but it looked almost comical.

These are in the order they were taken to give an idea of the weather/lighting conditions.

Great shots again. Love the top-side of Sally B. The Lysander-Hind-Gladiator-shot is amazing and frightening!

Thanks for posting.
