A1 Lightning cockpit being restored.

The old Lightning that used to be next to the A1 has it’s cockpit section undergoing restoration. 🙂 Good luck to them.

Scroll down a few posts on that Facebook site and check out Steve Kerry’s painting of the Lightning – “Reflected Glory”. Very nice!

Darren is making good inroads into her restoration and I hope he posts into the public domain some of the superb photos he has sent us at ‘Lakes Lightnings’ of her ‘current progress’.

She is indeed in good hands!

He certainly did sell it (and rescue it!!!)… And judging by the progress that Darren is making, I think he made the right decision…

He sold it. From the website: ” Initially rescued by Mark Rumble the cockpit has now passed to Darren Swinn who will be undertaking the restoration works.”

It was certainly bought by one who rescued it – would assume he still owns it.

Used to drive past that a lot – it was sad to see it gradually degrade but at least a part is safe for the future!
