Forget anything you read about the politics or economics in the press. They are a good operator with great staff. You don’t need anything more than that.

I’ve not flown an A320 in a while. But I’ve flown a Skyservice A320 twice, operating for Airtours at the time and Virgin Sun x2.
Can’t remember much about the flights so can’t have been anything wrong with them, except the descent into Palma on that Skyservice A320. I have yet to experience a worse descent! My ears were absolutely aching!!
Passengers had been reduced to tears because of the discomfort caused.
But apart from that, no problems. 😉

softlad who do you work for do you work for mytravel?

if so u know wht a/c will be used just want to double check and are you my pilot? lol

How long have you been a member and you still dont know what SOFTLAD does 😀

He works for MyTravel as cabin crew, and hes based out of LBA where a Skyservice A320 is been based this year. I doubt he will know what a/c you will be on, I would trust Mark.

Ive liked all my flights on the A320 (2x VIR SUN, 2x Britannia 2x Monarch), found it a very nice machine.

As for MyTravel, I thought the legroom was really bad when I flew them, I had far more room on the likes of Jet2 and Ryanair surprisingly for some reason.

Have a great time 🙂

767-300 G-DIMB

Me too! :p

I also booked a return flight for October yesterday and the London Heathrow to Budapest (as you can see by my signature) is to be operated by an A320, with the return trip on a 767.

A320 is similar in performance to a 737NG except in the climb above about FL200 where the 737 has the advantage. The 320 has the advantage making approaches on foggy days as it can make no decision autolands in 75 meters vis whereas the 737 requires a 50′ decision height and 200 meters visibility. On the whole not much in it really. The interior fit is down to the operators specifications although I wouldn’t expect much difference between a charter and a low cost.

I enjoyed my monarch (G-OZBB) a320 flight from MAN – PMI and back, it was very quiet plane (to me anyway) It looked small from the outside but it was great inside. And here she is:

In general the A320 is (imho) a much nicer aircraft than the 737 to fly on and is more on a par with the 757 except for the smaller windows.

However, I flew with MYT last year (G-YLBM if my memory serves correctly) and thought it was possibly the worst trip I have done, partly because I’m 6’5″ tall and the seat pitch isn’t too great, and partly because of the MYT rules, like refusing me a window seat because I had a vegetarian meal (apparently all special meal orders are prebooked starting from the middle seats).

Many other people seem to like MYT though, so maybe I was just unlucky on the day. They certainly have one of the more attractive colour schemes around. Hope you have a better experience than I did.

If you want to know what the A320 is like in general, I can tell you it is a very nice aircraft, especially when you get the exit row with extra legroom! I prefer the type to the 737 but I have only flown in A320s belonging to Air France.

I cannot tell you what the MyTravel A320 is like.

I’ve been on a couple of MYT 320’s. In general the legroom and comfort levels are average for a charter flight. MYT do have IFE (I think a charge is made for the adaptor / headphones).

Generally they are quite good, nothing really to write home about – been on one A320, the rest are all pretty much the same. Must say, not much room for a tall person like me – but that is pretty much stndard over any charters fleet. A very good airline…

LOL, your about an inch taller than me, I have plenty legroom on an EZY 737… can the leg room on an MYT A320 be any smaller?

MyTravel in my view are the best charter airline there is. I have not been on there A320 I have only ever been on the 757-200 G-WJAN and the 767-300 G-DIMB with them.
