A330 for Finnish Air Force & Finnair

Finnish Air Force has told today that it has propose to Finnair that they will together acguire 2 or 3 aircrafts, which would be equipped with aerial refueling capabilities, but would be normally used Finnair’s normal passanger traffic.

Reason for the propose is than FinAF is looking for tanker aircrafts to support it’s missions at beging of next decade. By then FinAF F-18’s will take part of EU’s Crisis Management Cooperation (what ever it then will be…). Aircrafts would be also used in possible Civil Crisis Missions.

Finnair has response that propose is worth to investigate. Working group, lead by Ministry of defence will start its work soon.

According of Finnish Air Force commande Major General Heikki Lynninen, aircraft for the job could be A330.
