Saw an A330 over my house yesterday inbound to BHX about mid-afternoon. It was all white from underneath except a large red blob painted on the fuselage between the maingear wheelbays. Any ideas which airline?

Indeed, that’s what I said…

Yes.
I was agreeing with you. 🙂

I don’t recall ever seeing an Emirates A330 with the logo on the underside….

….The A330s do NOT have the large red Emirates logo on the undersides…
I don’t recall ever seeing an Emirates A330 with the logo on the underside and this example from LHR last Saturday certainly wasn’t carrying one.

The early afternoon Emirates flight into BHX is now operated by a 777-300ER (complete with the red Emirates logo on the underside), whilst the evening flight is still on the A330.
The A330s do NOT have the large red Emirates logo on the undersides.

Don’t ever recall seeing that many 777s going into BHX though?
At least one of EK’s two daily flights into BHX uses a 777-200 – I flew that route recently and made sure I was on one of their 777-200s with the upgraded IFE 😀

Cheers, I know Emirates are the usual A330 operator into BHX. I normally don’t look at SBS logs but this inbound may have been A6-EAC. I thought it had the wing profile (inc winglets) of an A330. But if it was the 777 assuming that type carries the underside logo, then likely it was A6-EBP. Don’t ever recall seeing that many 777s going into BHX though?

Must be Emirates. They have painted the wheel area on the bottom of their aircraft in red and the Emirates name in white…
I know the below photos are of the A380, but it is purely for demonstration. I am not sure if they have got round to doing any of their A330s yet though!
Their 330s have the same and have so for probably 2 years already.

This sounds like an Emirates Airlines B777-300ER to me!
They carry the word “Emirates” on a red oval background beneath the fuselage.
