A330 skipper dies at the controls

A Garuda flight from Melbourne to Denpasar had just closed up, ready to push back, when the A330 Captain died in his seat. He was About 51years old and he was from Indonesia. He suffered a heart attack moments before departure.

A terrible shame, although for the sake of everybody else on board the aircraft, it’s better that it happened on the ground instead of in the air.

A sad story, some of us will recall the Staines BEA Trident crash caused by the captain’s demise at the controls…

Indeed Ren, as you know there was alot more to that story, like the autocratic captain and the inexperienced 1st officer, thank goodness for CRM nowadays
