The A340-600 will be launched on Tuseday. It will be the longest range aircraft in the world. Qantas, is looking at the A340-600(not sure) for route called the Kangaroo route between Sydney and London direct. I think the A340-600 is going to be quiet succesful.

RE: A340-600
I have heard that it is the A340-500 which has the longest range at least in Airbus fleet. The new 777-200erx (or whatever) is also going to have pretty long range (16 000 km?!)
