A340-600 misinformation

In the October 2002 issue of Airliner World, in the article about
the Virgin Atlantic A340-600, on page 49, it says:

CARGO OPTIONS
“The larger fuselage circumference of the A340-600
over its main competitor, the Boeing 777, offers up a
variety of options for the lower deck.”

The last time I checked, the A340 diameter was 5.64m (222.0445″),
while the 777 is 244″.

Both aircraft have circular fuselages.

Unless there’s new math I’m not aware of, a larger diameter equals
a larger circumference.
