Now that with the recent SQ order, the A3XX has become a reality, I wonder if anyone at Airbus (or Boeing, for that matter…) or the airlines, has actually asked potential passengers whether they REALLY WANT to be cooped up for 16-18 hours at time, particularly in Economy Class! Likewise, have they made allowances in these planes for the extra demands on fresh drinking water, better plumbing in the toilets and extra supplies in these areas (toilet paper, paper towels etc).
As things are now,it isn’t too unusual on current long flights such as Sydney – West Coast USA, to run out of drinking water, toilet supplies or for the toilets to become blocked and unusable in the last couple of hours of the 13-15 hour flight.
For myself, even on the rare occasions when I fly Business-Class, I think I’d rather have the opportunity to walk around for an hour or so in say, Tokyo, on a trip from Singapore to Los Angeles, for instance.
How do others feel about this subject. Also, any takers from the manufacturers and/or airlines, on the “livability” of these new planes?
