AAs Rapide 'IDL a TV star

I read somewhere recently that one of Air Atlantique’s Rapides, G-AIDL, has been used in filming an episode of the new BBC sci-fi series “Torchwood”.

No idea when it’s on but involves a story of a group of airline passengers and time travel.

Thanks very much Will. I am looking forward to seeing photos of the finished scheme.

Great photo by the way!

Have you got any photos of the Rapide in its new RNZAF scheme please? Is there any particular reason that scheme has been chosen, or just because it looks nice? Will it be the white/grey/blue VIP scheme as worn by ZK-AKU here in NZ? Or wartime camouflage?

Hi Dave! Progress so far has mostly involved some careful peeling, removing and degreasing of the civil registration…. or at least the mark it left behind!

The new scheme will be pretty much the same as ZK-AKU, with the current silver belly extended upwards and the blue stripe added on. By doing this, our Rapide fleet will echo our DC3s, with a civilan version and a military one… with minimal alteration to the basic finish of the aircraft!

Yup, can’t wait to to see The Hamster on the telly again on Friday.

(My apologies if the wild off-topicness of this thread has annoyed anyone!)

Another Whovian coming out of the closet. 😎

Are we all looking forward to ‘Whomas’ day on the 25th, ‘Doctor Who Confidential’ on at 1PM, ‘Jo Whiley meets Doctor Who’ on Radio 1 4 PM to 7 pm, followed by the TV event of the year – ‘The Runaway Bride’ on BBC 1.

Last week I treated myself to Series one (9th Doctor) on DVD, AND the second series boxed set 😀 So it’s been pretty much back to back episodes of the Doctor each evening at the moment.

Just bought the soundtrack album today too. Kept playing ‘Doomsday’ (the music used after the breach is sealed & during the goodbye on the beach). This would make a great single. 😎

And check out the advent calendar on http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/ Some great stuff on there.

Ashley – what did you think of John Borrowman on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross’ 😮

BTW the Hamster is on there this Friday (22nd) his first TV interview since the accident.

Geoff.

One word Lancman, WOW! 😮 That Dalek is simply brilliant, well done! I guess if you ever get invited to a fancy dress party there will not be a problem deciding what to wear…how to get there might be another issue! 😀

Well, G-AIDL looked nice, but the episode was as hammy and lame as the previous 9 have been! 😎

Ashley, it sounds like you might like this glimpse into ‘ol Lancman’s alternate reality, then-

But she is currently being repainted in a pseudo New Zealand Air Force Transport scheme.

LOL!!!

Dont forget…. our imminent appearance on C5 on Sunday!

TT

Haven’t heard anything officially from Empire Films, TT, but it looks from the listings that Channel 5 are now one week behind in showing the series.

According to their website, the first episode is scheduled for 8pm this Sunday (19th). TT, DB and co are set to star in episode two, the follwing week.

I don’t think even the temptation of a bit of ‘plane porn is enough to get me to watch any more of that utter dreck.

oh i dont know, the female lead runing through the streets in that T shirt does it for me, like two cats fighting in a sack 😀
