Does anybody know how long it would take to get from Aberdeen to the Speyside region? Also, what kind of transportation is available and for how much? I’d greatly appreciate any info.

RE: Aberdeen
i would take the train to elgin from aberdeen, aprox £12 and then take the local bus service if you are not thinking of hiring a car to get round .most of the whisky trail towns are served by the local bus ie abelour, cragellichie, rothes, keith .they are not too expensive£8-10 max.there are also b+b and hotels very close to the railway station in elgin and they will keep you right as to how to get to where you want to go or their is a tourist info centre in elgin .i live in elgin and if you want more info just give me a shout and i will try and help.

RE: Aberdeen
I would be headed for the ‘malt whiskey trail.’ What would be the best option, train? Also, how much do the trains/coaches cost, roughly? Thanks for the info.

RE: Aberdeen
www.baa.co.uk is BAA’s website, they operate ABZ, should be able to supply some details about onward transport.
Otherwise, useful links might be:
www.gobycoach.com (National Express) or www.citylink.co.uk (Scottish City Link) for coach services
www.scotrail.co.uk (ScotRail) for Rail services.
