Abingdon 15-16 may

Just wondering if any of the forum regulars are going to be at the Great Vintage Fly-in Weekend at Abingdon on the 15th and 16th?

Anybody know who / what will be attending on Saturday , ie will there be different aircraft on the Sunday if so what ?

Is there anyway of viewing the ATC slot times to check out anything really interesting?

MOTF,
Which day are you suggesting for a meet, Saturday is best for me and I will be with Dave Macready and Clive Hubbard who I think you met at OW recently.
Magister works for me (did I tell everyone that I have flown in the OW example…………..maybe the odd 100 times or so!!) and noon is OK

Good idea. Time? Around noon?

Unless something crops up in the meantime, I’ll be there on Sunday.

Anyone want to “gather”?

Rob

Yeah, why not?

Just name the time and place and we will be there 😀

[QUOTE=ALBERT ROSS]

Looks like me and the missus will be there both days. If you see a rather fat, blond guy speaking with a heavy scandinavian accent feel free to pop over for a chat.

…okay and if I don’t see him, I’ll look out for you!! 😉

It is the missis 😮

Hope to be there on Sunday in my Chippy – weather permitting. Didnt make NealP’s event due to severe clag in the Midlands so hoping for better luck this time.

I may make it on Sunday for the first time since it was at Thruxton(remember the first at Old Sarum?).
Whats the on the day entrance fee, no mention of it on the website, just the £15 in advance?

I’m hoping to be able to make it on Saturday afternoon after taking Mrs C shopping in the morning. Would have preferred to make it all day on Sunday but I’m working and to add insult to injury I’ll be the proverbial stones throw from the airfield – don’t it make you want to spit? Assuming I manage to get there has anyone thought of a meeting place?

You’ll find out when someone takes pics of it on Sunday! Not WB569 though.

I so dearly wish I had a slot to trade for that. Ahhhh, Chippies…. 😀

Which one is it Janie? Bear in mind that if you say it’s WB569 I will spend the rest of the afternoon sulking. 😉

It’s time to take a risk…

Chipmunk flight up for grabs

This Sunday I have access to a Chipmunk. It has a spare seat. I want to go to Abingdon. I don’t have an allocated call sign. The organisers have been inundated and all the slots have gone.

Anyone (under 15 stone!) who can donate their unwanted slot or can find a way to get the organisers to let me in it (Its a very pretty Chipmunk) gets the back seat.

Any takers?
Janie

I’ve got a slot for J-3 G-BTUM and hope to be there Sat and Sun, and will camp under the wing, barnstormer style. I hope it can still remember the way to Abingdon, as we were there for the Fayre only 10 days ago.

I like a cross-country where you can see the destination ( Didcot Chimneys) from the circuit on departure. There are 700 a/c booked, and it should be a great event, if the weather is kind. After two iffy weekends on the trot, we are due for a good one!

I’m hopefully bringing the Prentice in on Friday. She’ll stay there all weekend, but i’m on standby for the Coastguard all weekend so I’ll be back at Coventry.
