Nice to see him back flying again.
Thank you for the info!

PIGY is still owned by Invicta Aviation (The logo is still on her) and the Bronco plot was Tony De Bruyn.

I’m not sure who owns her now. Mind you she’s a bit of a tart really, I recall Hunting Aviation and Babcock being among her previous owners too.

PIGY looks a lot different from when I saw her last. Does anyone know what she is up to now. I’ve heard that she is possibly operating out of Hereford. Has she left the ownership of Invicta Aviation.
Any idea who the Bronco pilot was?

Or a Bedford three tonner with wings. Pretty similar drag coefficient I think.

Almost a 2 engined Beverley

Very nice. I thought it a pity the Bronco didn’t display but then they are possibly not authorised to display here. Time has moved on, the last time I saw G-PIGY she was white with blue trim

Abingdon,
Hi Mike, my Storch is ‘something different’ on the airshow scene. We had to load sufficient fuel for the return trip to Old Warden from Abingdon so I was IRO 75kg heavier than my ideal display weight. The winds were also fairly light so I couldn’t quite achieve the ‘hover’ or even backwards. I cannot take the thing too far from Old Warden in view of its average 1 litre per minute/ per mile fuel burn and, more important, precious engine hours/ scarcity and cost of spare parts for the Argus V8, so Abingdon was a rare trip out. Check out www.Shuttleworth.org for display dates and check the line-up also to check if the Storch is on the programme, if indeed you would like to see it fly again.
All the best,
HP

Given anything more than a ten knot wind I’m sure the Storch would touch down and stop in little more than its own length. Yesterday was the first time I’ve seen that display close up and I have to say I was very impressed.
