Apparently staff bracing themselves for the busiest ever day for passengers at ABZ.
Some 12,500 people expected through today. Surpasses a previous record in June this year.
A gnat’s hair at some airports perhaps but significant for ABZ.
The good news continues at my local.

I don’t believe there is anything specific (eg. Offshore Europe conference, which is held every 2yrs in Sept, which blosters pax numbers).
It is just the booming local economy, & people coming/going on business/holiday & oil guys travelling on/offshore on the helis.
Passenger numbers have been rising for the past couple of years now after being in the doldrums.
ABZ currently (& has been for a while) BAA Scotland’s fastest growing airport re pax numbers.
Rolling Annual Total exceeds 3m now.
Proposed runway ext will, if approved by the Council, help bring in more destinations in the future. BAA have submitted a plan to Aberdeen Council for this.
