Air Canada launched flights from Billy Bishop Toronto Island Airport (YTZ), using Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 type aircraft, from 1st May.
This is a significant milestone because Billy Bishop Toronto Island Airport (YTZ) has been dominated by Porter Airlines since their launch in 2006.
Air Canada now operate x15 flights every day to Montreal (YUL) from the airport…but with Porter also operating up to x20 flights every day on the same route, isn’t the Toronto-Montreal market being a little overserved, especially considering that there are also flights from Pearson International too?!
And below is a link to a picture of one of Air Canada’s Dash 8 Q400’s with “express” titles on the side…which looks rather smart in my opinion!

They’ll keep Porter on their toes, but I doubt they will be there for long.
Nice to see a Q400 in new colours. 😀

Air canada used to fly from YTZ years ago with Air ONtario Liason Air can connector. They made the stupid mistake of pulling out when the numbers fell only to jump back in when another carier started up fairly recently and is doing well..
