I was listening to the radio earlier (96.3 Radio Aire for the people interested) and they were saying on the news that DSA was the worst airport to access. From my experience there is lots of room for improvment.
Any one else know of any airports that have bad access?

I live in Doncaster now, being originally from Leeds. There are plans for an access road from J3 of the M18, through Rossington, but this has not been given goverment funding yet. If it happens, it will probably be around 2010. The level of traffic to the airport dosn’t yet justify the expense of the road (said to be £60m).
Try the link to the unoficial DSA spotters site below, for the full story on the link road.

Hi
Well on my first and last experience of DSA was really bad. The Shuttle Bus from Doncaster train station had to reverse back down a little country lane as another vehicle was coming up the other direction and couldn’t pass each other on this small road.
Dose this happen a lot?? Is there any plans for better road access to the airport from the A1(M) and M18. As it needs doing ASAP surely.
P.s this is not just DSA bashing from an LBA supporter
Leeds/Bradford Airport is just as bad to get to from the Motorway network. A1(M), M1, M62, M621 & M606. One day they might make a new road unto the airport instead of having to go on a detour around Horsforth and Rawdon and the Leeds outer ring road.
Its even worse just at the moment with all the road works happening on the A65 on the lead up to the airport. Theres tempory traffic lights all other the place and not to mention all them speed cameras.

Even at the time of opening DSA was known to have surface access problms, which wil not be alleviated for a few years yet, although the road upgrade plans are in place.

I had no problems whatsoever in finding Doncaster for a TOM flight to Jersey. Only thing that hacked me off was the fact I live in Horsforth about four minutes away from LBIA! (come on Flybe or Jet2 – I’m sure you could make a go of Jersey)
Though it’s embarrassing to admit it, I fear LBIA suffers from the worst road and public transport links to any airport I’ve used in the UK (Fortunately it’s close enough to blag a lift off a kind neighbour or get a private hire taxi for about £5)

What on earth do you mean?
Do you mean unauthorised access such as climbing over a boundary fence?
Or do you mean bad for access to public transport or parking?
Lots of variables it could be!
