Had a good day.

Monday:
Croatia was 9A-CTF

I think Qatar landed after we left, but according to ringway reports was A7-AFC

Yes, Silvio Berlusconi was in the crowd at Old Trafford. He bankrolls Milan doesn’t he?

Pretty turgid stuff on the field though.

not much, just a couple of biz-jets Dan, seen ya pics of G-KKAZ on a.net from the other day along with all Pauls – you didn’t get the reggies of the Croatian Airbus and the white A300 of Qatar on Monday did you? I seem to have missed them off my pad!

Hope it all went well! Can’t wait to see the pics

So you got a few biz jets at LBA yesterday then, anything else?

We had a few biz jets at MAN as well as a huge number of other aircraft from around Europe and beyond!

Highlight of the biz stuff were a 737 BBJ, reportedly carrying Russian premier Vladimir Putin and the Italian AF A319CJ carrying the Italian Belusconi (spelling on the two names!)

I’ll post a complete report on the day including a few pics later tonight.

It was not a very exciting match, to say the least. Typical of Italian teams, in my opinion.

Sorry it should have read for the match AT Man U – hard to believe i’m a football fan really after travelling the country watching my beloved Ipswich Town and England, as well as one or two “other” matches such as FA cup finals and alike!

Yep what a poor match… what a poor shoot out… what a long trip home for Juventus…

What Man U match?

I take it you mean the [sarcasm mode]ever so exciting CL final[/sarcasm mode] at Old Trafford?

If ever there was proof needed that no country should have more than one team competing in the CL…

Incidentally, I’ll bet neither AC nor Juve brought 75’000 supporters from around the World with them…

yea bearing in mins it’s a VIP SP i’m not surprised it only had that number on board, picked up 8 from NM brought in by 2 helos from the York Races i think…

Our charter 747s used to run from here over to Canada, so fuel wasn’t really a huge factor in its departure status

andway heres some pics courtesy of Paul (Dont know his last name) a contributer to LBA2…

Unrestricted runway requirements:

747-100 – 3,100m
747-200 – 3,100m
747-300 – 3,100m
747-400 – 2,990m

Typical runway lengths:

Leeds-Bradford – 2,250m
Liverpool – 2,286m
Manchester – 3,048m
Heathrow – 3,902m
Gatwick – 3,159m
Glasgow – 2,658m
Humberside – 1,554m

I use HUY as an illustration, as I have personally witnessed a B742 and Concorde operate there; presumably under special conditions.

hmmmmn…well ok, if you consider reducing pax numbers massively and carrying limited fuel!

sounds like it’s open with a reduced Take off/Landing distance at the moment. Not sure how the B737/757/767 a/c will cope – next decent size landing is the MYT B752 for Fuertaventura in 45mins or so.

From the board looks like departures are recommencing…

Departures

T34704 SOUTHAMPTON 1435 DELAYED
BD405 EDINBURGH 1445 DEPARTED 1609
T34395 ISLE OF MAN 1450 DELAYED
BD294 GLASGOW 1505 DEPARTED 1612
