Spain warplane crash leaves 3 pilots dead

MADRID, Spain (AP) — The Spanish Defense Ministry says two Mirage F-1 warplanes have crashed during a training mission and all three crewmembers on the planes were killed.

The ministry says the accident happened Tuesday in the central province of Albacete.

A ministry official says it is unclear if the aircraft collided in mid-air or went down separately.

One of the French-made fighter jets was a single-seater. The other was designed to hold a crew of two.
