Hi!
I am looking for some decent hotel/guest house in the Farnborough area for the 2006 Airshow weekend, but I have a hard time finding anything on the net that is not already fully booked…
Am I to late already?

**Visit BAP Centre on the Sat and Sunday!**
As the BAP only runs Mon-Weds dont expect any biz jets to be in it on Sat and Sun 😉

Thats right, free buses to the railway station.
www.farnborough.com for show information and tickets.

Last time I went to Farnborough I was with my dad. We booked into the Ibis just behind Euston station (as we were coming down the west coast mainline), went for a meal then hit the airshow in the morning. Travelled straight back home from Farnborough. If I remember rightly there are busses all day long from the railway station?

Where can I buy tickets for the show, or has it already sold out?
I can only go on the 22nd, as on 23rd I jet off to Calgary on my trip to Alaska, but it would still be good to go, as I have never been before!
Anyone else going?

Accomodation in Farnborough
If you have wheels then think about Reading. You can get a room at the M4
Travelodge for as little as £10 per night.
Google : Travelodge.
Good luck.

You could just as well got to London, and take the train to Farn and back. Roughly an hour if I am not mistaken.
or Reading (which is 10 times nicer) 😉 and only half an hour.

What about trying local towns? Farnborough has two train stations, both within talking distance of the town centre, from where you’re bound to be able to get a taxi or public transport to the show.

You are rather late I’m afraid, most companies block book the big hotels, and coupling that with the fact there aren’t many of them in the first place you have a problem. There is a reason the Heliport does so well during the week, and thats because its so hard finding accomodation anywhere near.
Its not really the right area for B&Bs or smaller touristy places. The two I can suggest are Potters International: http://www.pottersinthotel.com/
Also the Lismoyne is very nice, but expensive, and tends to get overlooked: http://www.lismoynehotel.co.uk/
