Accomodation – Could you help the City of Norwich Aviation Museum

Dear All,

Apologies for posting slightly off topic but I wonder if you could help us and help Historic Aviation while doing so?

This summer the volunteer run CNAM has two French Students that are travelling from France to do voluntary work for us at the museum. The are both students at ESTACA – The French Aerospace university and at least one is a PPL. The first will be with us from 26th June to 22nd July and the second from 22nd July to about 22nd August. They are looking for cheap or even free accomodation that will enable them to work at the museum. They will happily help with household chores, cleaning, cooking etc. They are doing this to help the museum, to gain experience in working in the UK and to gain experience in speaking English. In helping them you would be significantly helping us at the museum.

If anyone wants more details they can call me, Robert Walden at anytime on 07747 697797, or of course post here. If I don’t answer the phone please leave a message and I ‘ll call you back.

With many thanks

Rob

A few years back ESTACA students regularly helped out at The Brooklands Museum. Accomodation was usually at Brunel University who had rooms available for a fair price. I’m not familiar around Norwich but my suggestion would be to look at university or college housing.

Good luck!

Thanks – I will give these chaps the number there – that might help them out, they are only staying for one month each so £48 pw would not be too bad for them I guess. Good to hear that you got some experience with KLM UK Engineering – I did much the same summer 1995 with Air UK Engineering, we had F27’s, F50’s, F100’s, BAe146’s and looked after 737’s and L188’s. It’s changed a lot!

Have you tried the City College, they have accomadation during the summer, but very basic. Stayed there while I was doing my engineering course through Kingston University in affiliation with KLM UK engineering. Not sure of the contact details and how much it would cost, last time I stayed it was £46 a week and that was 2 years ago.
