I will ask the Webmaster to delete Rab’s user account, in line with his wishes.

Ive spoken to Rab on the phone,
He texted me after he had sold his gear , so there was no point trying to talk him round , though I did try 🙁 🙁 but to no avail
In fact In the last few hours I recieved another text saying he was selling his PC as well

The End Of Darkside Aviation 🙁 🙁

I’m sorry to hear that, Kevin, but I guess if someone’s heart just isn’t in it, well… It just isn’t in it. I’ve gone through many phases of wanting to give up and sell my cameras, planning round the world trips with the money I’d get only to realise I’d have nothing to capture the trip with and remember it by, making it utterly pointless. Then again, I’ve gone through similar phases with my bass guitars which I prize far more highly than my cameras. I’ve felt like quitting playing so many times only to be overcome by the feeling I’d be making possibly one of the biggest mistakes of my life if I went through with it. Incidentally, the main reason I’ve felt like quitting both photography and playing is the feeling I’m not getting anywhere and that what I do is wasted, but I think the vast majority of people doing anything even vaguely artistic are very familiar with that feeling and it’s something you just have to work through if you’re to improve.

Ultimately people who’s heart is genuinely in what they do always see sense and manage to stop themselves before they make the huge mistake of getting rid of the gear they so love to use. If it isn’t quite that important to someone, they simply move on.

Are you sure, Rab?

Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.

It’s a one-way trip.

I agree with Sam, also I wouldn’t be so sure Rab as it may just be a phase where you’ve lost interest…..

You’ll see, 6 months down the line or so you’ll be back :diablo:.

Isn’t this the third time you’ve said you’re giving up, Rab?

I hate to see people quit photography but make your mind up man. You either want to shoot or you don’t!
