Well people a new Ace Combat game is coming out for the PlayStation 2 this year. The exact release date hasn’t been set, but it will be for PS2 (not PS3), and will be similar to Ace Combat 5 though it will take place 15 years before the events of the previous game.
Tons of screenshots are out, as well as a few movie cilps, and thus far I’ve seen the following aircraft….

MiG-29 Fulcrum
MiG-31 Foxhound
Su-35 Super Flanker
JAS-39 Gripen
F/A-18C Hornet
F-14 Tomcat
F-4 Phantom
MiG-21 Fishbed

A-10 Thunderbolt II
Here are some cool screenshots of an F/A-18C Hornet and a J-35 Draken (along with an F-15 and MiG-31’s in the Draken shot).
Notice the Falcon and Sidewinder AAM’s on the J-35 and the Sparrow and Sidewinder AAM’s on the Hornet. Sweet!

lets hope they make one for the Nintendo then.. after all, they did make a 2-D Ace Combat for the Gameboy Advance, and made that new Mario Kart game with Nintendo too!
a company in hungryland (I think), Human Soft, made Ace Combat Advanced for Namco. the reviews were not that good.

I’ve heard as high as $800…which wouldn’t suprise me in the least. Do you have any idea how expensive Blu Ray drives are?
lets hope they make one for the Nintendo then.. after all, they did make a 2-D Ace Combat for the Gameboy Advance, and made that new Mario Kart game with Nintendo too!

I heard the PS3 is going to sell for $500
I’ve heard as high as $800…which wouldn’t suprise me in the least. Do you have any idea how expensive Blu Ray drives are?

Best Buy has a release date of 26 April. Dunno if it’s credible or not since I haven’t seen a date anywhere else yet, but we can hope!
The release date for japan is 03/23/06. The last two USAian releases (4 and 5) were within a week of the japanese release. I would not be surprised if it is released on the last week of march or first week of april.
Now if you live in eurroland, you are going to have to wait months.
I heard the PS3 is going to sell for $500, i hope it can bake bread even better than the X360 for that kind of money 🙂

No need for Ace Combat PC ports, how many PC flight sims are there again? 😀 And yeah, I’ll prolly break down and pick up a PS3 eventually, but not until it’s been out a while and the price comes down a bit.

you know what I want Ace Combat to do?
start the game “earlier”.
In most of them the first aircraft you get were an F-4..followed by a MiG-21 or F-5.
They should go a little earlier, perhaps start off with an F-104, MiG-19, Draken and all those other late 2nd/ early 3rd generation aircraft.

yeah but GTA ended up having PC ports. Ace Combat.. nada 😉 you know you’ll have to end up buying one Sean 🙂

but you’ll eventually have to buy a PS3 because Namco don’t like American junkie consoles 😉 Seeing as how lately Namco is sleeping with Nintendo, you might even see it on the Revolution too :dev2:
