While one drops bombs, a few thousands km away in US these same type of jets fly as warbirds.

That A-4 is not bombing Gaza, it’s dropping leaflets. That’s about as combative as IAF A-4s get these days.

There is as i recall 3-4 active flying A-4 warbirds in US flying and maybe 4-10 employed as defence training aircraft , soon to be more tanks to NZ donating theirs via their AF…been downgraded.
What will happen to all these US defence training aircraft longer term.. will there be enough spares to remain as warbirds?

Anyone else still operating Skyhawks?
Likewise, I doubt if the rockets hitting Israel are that high tech. Still, they do a the job.
Yes, Israel, Brazilian Navy (ex-Kuwait), Argentine Air Force and I don´t know if it was used currently by Singapore on avanced jet training in France.

As HP111 says the Israelis could use almost any aircraft to carry out these attacks.

Also, the Syrians have been using L-39s.

Has not one of the aircraft been shot down today ??
So it has been reported. I put it down to a spot of luck if true.

Its not a warbird until retired, Its very much still a weapon of war in its current guise.

With no effective AA defences to contend with, the Israelis could use any type that moved reasonably quickly. Age is not the issue here, but rather, suitability for the task. “Warbird” (refering to an ex military aircraft in private hands) is quite a vague term.
