Adding text to your images

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere before, but does anybody have a nice workflow for adding copyright text to an image.

Until recently I haven’t really bothered, but every now and again I get a good image that I’d like to ‘put my name to’ 🙂

I am able to cobble something together but it is rather long winded and a not particulary efficient method.

Grateful for any advice

Even Paint Shop Pro is easy to put text on a picture. Yet another way to do it.

Or you could cheat and do it with PHP. You can write a script to take in the source image and spit out a new one with whatever you like written over it. However you need a knowledge of PHP programming and a half decent web server to make this work.

I use powerpoint.
Open blank presentation. Insert picture, might have to adjust image to fit blank presentation template. Add text box, type in and format whatever you want in the text box and save as JPEG.

Try this..

TO ADD TEXT TO PICS AND SAVE AS JPEGs through PHOTOSHOP:
· Get your image ready in Photoshop – either new or from file
· Click on LAYER>NEW>LAYER – this brings a “New Layer” menu box onto the screen.
· Leave OPACITY at 100% (unless you want to “fade” your text) but change MODE to “Overlay” from its drop-down box. Click on OK. This starts up a transparent “sheet” overlaid on the existing photo.
· Now place your text on the new layer as you would normally and OK that.
· To save as a JPEG click on LAYER>FLATTEN IMAGE
· Now FILE>SAVE (or SAVE AS if you are working on a fresh unsaved scan)

Good Luck.

Hi,
i use :http://www.jojosoftware.de/jojothumb/
With this Proggie you can also make thumbnail for the Web, but also only Copyright-Text and Logo to your pictures.
It is not a easy proggie, but useful. 😎

Cheers Andy
