Advice to the Administrators of this Forum

You guys may want to think of investing in a new platform now seeing that the site keeps growing bigger every day. Or an updated vbulletin would be nice as well.

“If it ain’t broke…”

Does vB 4.2 bring anything to the table that 3.7.0 doesn’t? I suspect not, being involved in the running of forums using 3.8.2 and 4.1.4, apart from a few bells and whistles which are not crucial to the basic needs of a forum.
If this version is stable and secure then I see no point in going through the headache of an upgrade just for the sake of it….

I’m confused – the OP makes a suggestion to upgrade, then in the next post says this one is fine???? Is this trolling – because it looks like it from here…

I am too, but like you, I’m probably not that demanding. I read, I learn – a lot, I post, I have a laugh and I look at fantastic pictures – what more do you want?:)

The moderation team have no great say in the technical aspects of the forum.

The Webmaster relies on us to check the nature of all postings so may well not read this particular thread himself.

Can I suggest it might be helpful to e-mail the Webbie directly outlining what you feel are the shortcomings of the present software and possible improvements?

I am sure it would be updated if it could be afforded, so this thread seems a bit circular to me…..

I’m just making a suggestion. Looks like we could use an update. If we can’t afford it, then we can stay with this. It seems perfectly fine to me.
