Have booked a family trip to New York in February using Aer Lingus from Dublin to JFK. Daughter now wants to know if the A330s have PTVs yet, or are there just shared screens throughout the cabin?
Last A330 I was on was 10 years ago when EI did a courtesy flight around Northern Ireland from BFS just before they introduced the plane into service 🙂 , and at that time they were all shared screens in the overhead locker fittings.
Any current info would be appreciated.
Cheers

Indeed EI-DAA is the only A330 with PTVs however it is used regualry on the LAX route so its just as common to see it on the BWI route so Id quess itll be used on MCO aswell.

Many thanks guys – it backs up my own hunch that it’s still shared screens on almost the whole fleet. Miss Dee747 will just have to content herself this time around, and wait for some other flight to get her PTVs.
Cheers

Every Aer Lingus A330 is used on all transatlantic services. The 200 series are used for the US west coast routes owing to the longer range.
EI-DAA the newest of the fleet has PTV’s, I’ve been on it and the rest don’t.

Dont follow – AFAIK JFK is nearly always on ther route. They name them after the route if you hadent worked it out. Bar it being broken down i think its a safe bet to assume its on the route
EI-DAA isn’t related to its route.
