Aer Lingus, an airline which has had a long association with Liverpool Airport is to return at the end of October. A once daily rotation will operate with a 737-500 with fares starting from euro 9.00. The service will operate around the middle of the day, and im sure will be very welcome to people who have only had Ryanair of recent years. Of late their schedules have not been that great. Aer Lingus began operating to Liverpool from 1936 to 1989, when they were forced to leave the route by the Irish government in favour of Ryanair. This governmental policy I guess no-longer exists, so its nice to see them back 🙂 .

There is a lot of VFR traffic between Liverpool and Dublin, so the mid-day times are ok, i agree a morning and an evening service would be much better for business traffic, hopefully EI will introduce that if they do well.
I would say FR do not cater well for business travellers on the route anyway given their times LPL/DUB 1030-1115, 1250-1335 and 2225-2310……DUB/LPL 0920-1005, 1140-1225 and 2115-2200.
Sorry Shamrock321 hadn’t seen your earlier post been in Greece for 2 weeks 🙂

Ye for people who want to have a little lye on.Theyed hardly do it if they thought it would flop. Not all flights are aimed at business passengers. All of the new A320s Aer Lingus are recieving have 176 seats in a one class layout.

Possibly going to be more popular with the leisure market than the business one. A lunchtime flight would certainly appeal to me, most of my DUB trips have to either involve a 5.30am start to get the Ryanair flight from PIK or a 7am start to get the Aer Lingus “business” service from GLA.

I posted this a couple of weeks ago.Its not a useless service. This plane will make more money flying to LPL then it will sitting on the ground in Dublin later that evening. Its to fill a gap just like the Bristol flights.

Well Ryanair’s services are at more sensible times which are suited to the business traveller, and with 3x 737-200 services a day, I don’t think Ryanair will lose many travellers to Aer Lingus I’m afraid.

A pointless service if you ask me!
Who is this aimed at, because it certainly cannot be aimed at business travellers, thats for sure. What use would be it be for someone to fly to/from Dublin at 12 noon? If you are on business, you want to travel in the morning and return in the late afternoon or early evening. It would make more sense for two return trips each day.

Excellent news, competition after all is a good thing.
