Could this be true?
Aer Lingus is in talks to order up to 14 Airbus A330s or Boeing 7E7s to be delivered in 2008.
The B7E7, or the A330, which would be best for Aer lingus?
Aer lingus already have A330s, I think it’s time they moved onto B7E7s.
What are your opinions?

I would actually like them to get B7E7s, but now I’m thinking it’s almost obvious what they’re gonna go for, aw well!

Id imagine it will be a A330lite because I dont think theres a hope of them getting the 7E7.I wonder when they replace our lovely A330s will they equip the new planes with PTVs.Currently EI-DAA is the only one with them.

Would that be an A329? 😀
Well it could be Dean, it may be an A328 or A327 or A326, they’ll just keep removing a wee bit at a time until they reckon it’s leaner then the 7E7. :p

Aren’t Airbus proposing an A330 “lite” to compete with the 7E7 anyhow ?

Agreed. It would make financial sense to stay with the Airbus in terms of commonality. Aren’t Airbus proposing an A330 “lite” to compete with the 7E7 anyhow ?

Aerlingus already operate A320s,A321s,A330-200s and A330-300s so keeping comonality in their fleet would seem to be the best option especially seeing as how easy pilot conversion is between the airbus family.
