Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) to be cancelled. "Embraer ERJ-145….not large enough!"

It should have been obvious long ago that the ERJ-145 wasn’t a suitable platform for the ACS program. The weight and performance margins of this regional jet aren’t suitable for this application.

The best course of action would be to cancel the Army’s participation in the ACS program, allowing the Navy to utilize the 737-based P-8A MMA as the platform to replace its EP-3C Aries fleet.

The example of the successful multi-service operation of the EA-6B Prowler fleet instantly springs to mind.
