Hello
Does anyone have in their possesion plans for the following buildings:

Airmen’s Married Quarters (Air Ministry Drawing No.2255/34)

Type “Q” Barrack Block (Air Ministry Drawing No.444/36)

Officer’s Mess (Air Ministry Drawing No.569-70/37)

Just a bit of sideways thinking – the numbers you mention (and I presume have quoted in enquiries to the RAFM and the like) are maybe too specific.
I was wondering if, for example, drg no 2255/34 was reduced to drg no 2255 it might yield results?

Would probably be worth having a look around the Defence Estates website:
http://www.defence-estates.mod.uk/index.php
or contacting them through their ‘Built Estate and Heritage’ section

The Officer’s Mess and some of the barrack blocks at Binbrook aren’t a great deal different either. In fact, the Officer’s Mess looks identical.

Phillip,
You may have to try to find where the Air Ministry Works Department (AMWD) left all their Plans. Probably to the Ministry of Public Buildings & Works (MPBW)
Alternatively, if you can find places where identical buildings are still in use then the current Defence Estates should(!!!) have the Plans. Can’t help with the Barrack Block, or the AMQ, but RAF Benson has an Officer’s Mess suspiciously like yr foto.
Good luck!

Apologies for not finishing the above message. I was called away. The buildings are located at Driffield. I have checked with the RAF Museum, but they don’t hold any drawings relating to these buildings. I have also checked with defence estates. The PSA no longer exist in England, but they do exist in Northern Ireland.
Best Wishes

Phillip,
RAFM at Hendon has many of the Building Plans. Last time I was chasing some Airfield Plans there they were very helpful – especially as you have the Drawing Numbers.
