Aeroflot Shareholders secure 787s

Last week Aeroflt was supposed to make a board decision about long haul fleet renewal, but the Government representatives on the board didn’t have a definitive answer over what they were allowed to permit, and so the fleet renewal choice was put on hold indefinately. The choice was between the A350XWB and the 787, although there were rumours of a split order.

Now it appears that NRC who own 30% of the carrier have signed some sort of deal for 22 Boeing-787s to secure them at the terms and delivery dates offered on behalf of the airline. It isn’t 100% certain yet, but as NRC is considering legal action to overcome the Government’s indecision then it appears likely.

I’ll only believe Aeroflot will be getting either when the paint touches the metal (or composite)
