MOSCOW, Dec 16 (Reuters) – Russia’s flagship airline Aeroflot (AFLT.MM) said it would buy 16 new Boeing 777s over the next six years as it strives to plug the gap created by the repeatedly delayed 787 Dreamliners.
The carrier said in a statement on Thursday it had signed a preliminary agreement to take the Boeing (BA.N) planes over the 2012-2017 period — prior to the receipt of a fleet of the highly anticipated Dreamliners.

The only time in my life I flew first class was when I was bumped up (I think) on an Aeroflot B777 several years back…

I’d me more than happy to see that:D But I feel that for most folk the idea of an airliner adorned with a red flag with gold star and hammer and sickle would be too much for todays Russian ‘yuppies’ to bear. I am still surprised that the modern day entity known as Aeroflot still carries the winged hammer and sickle …but I aint complainin!
