“The Big Bunny” was a MD DC-9-32 delivered to Playboy Enterprises
Feb. 24, 1969. The $9 million jet was painted black with a white Playboy
logo on the tail. The ID was N950PB, cn 47394/458. The world flying,
legendary jet was nicknamed, “Hare Force One.”:D

“The Big Bunny” had twelve onboard beds, a bar, a lounge, a disco,
TV/video equipment, a sunken Roman tub, crystal dinner set for 32,
and a king-size water bed covered with Tasmanian opposum fur,
with seatbelts.

The plane had four Playboy Bunny hostesses, called “Jet Bunnies”.
They were the cream of the crop of the Playboy Bunnies. Instead of
wearing bunny ears, they wore black leather mini-dresses, and a white
Playboy aviator scarf.;)

Elvis flew on the plane during one of his concert tours, and Sonny
and Cher once rented it.
The plane was sold around 1976, and became Aeropostal YV-19C.
Later, the plane became Aeromexico airlines XA-JEB, and was sometimes
spotted in New Orleans. Aeromexico retired “The Big Bunny” in Aug. 31, 2004
(replacing it with a 737). According to airliner sources, “The Big Bunny” in
2004 was flown to Guadalajara and was to be chopped up into scrap metal,
but luckily the world famous legendary DC-9 was spared. The plane was donated
to the city of Cadereyta, Queretaro, Mexico. The city decided to use it as a
childrens classroom. It’s wings and fins were removed, it was set up on pedestals
and a banner was huge on one side.

“The Big Bunny” now waits in 2010 for a buyer(s) to buy it from the city, return it to the USA,
repaint it, refurbish it with the Playboy original interior, and park it in an American site for visitors
to buy a ticket to walk through the iconic aircraft as Hef did…Good luck Big Bunny.
