I have just been browsing a web site which sells decals for model kits, and found a very nice blue Aeronavale Vampire. This got me wondering if any of the civilian Vampires flying today wears those colors?

Glad you liked them.
More here on PlaneTalk and an article in Warbird Digest’s issue 6 by me. No advert here, but a little web initiative should work.

A fortnight ago, with 40 degree heat, the Vampire at Temora (www.aviationmuseum.com.au) was up (with ‘Winston’).

The Vamp was impoted from the USA after leaving Australia some years ago. I don’t know what scheme it wore in the USA.

Come to think of it how many vampires are flying, I think there is a pair of T11s down at Bournmouth (G-VTII & G-VMPR?) both in RAF schemes and Air atlantiques have a camoflaged one; can anyone think of anymore?

Can’t help thinking there was one airworthy in those colours circa mid 1990’s.
