I took these pics for an artical I was going to do for FLAPS, but since that’s no longer, I’ll post them here.
Aeropelican opperate four DHC-6/400 Twin Otters out of Belmont Airpost just south of Newcastle in New South Walse, Australia.
Flights opperate between Belmont and Sydney and last about 30 min, and maximum height attained is 5000ft, Max seating is for 18 passengers in a 2/1 combination with four people at the back. Crew consists of Captain and First Officer trained to senior FO standards.
Aeropelican has been in opperation since 1965 and have no expansion desires, though a pilot did comfirm that they are looking for new planes to fill their needs. They wish to increase their seating capacity, but are restricted by runway length, one side is Lake Macquarie, the other is Belmont beach with Belmont south golf course and the highway in between.
I actually got engaged on the one coming in in these pics, and in the picc of the cabine, the two seats behind the cockpit was where we got engaged!
Anyway, enough of my bantering, here are the pics, enjoy!

RE: Aeropelican
Thanks guys, Flying in the DHC-6 is marvellous, I personally love flying in planes with props, the shudder of the props really lets you know that you’re flying in a plane that comes from the old school!
I remember once when I was coming home on leave from the Navy, we flew in over the Highway I mentioned, and a lady from interstate slamed on the breaks and paniced, mean while I saw her and she saw me and I waved at her, maybe that’s why she had the accident 😛
