Just a shame he lost the Gmax source files! 🙁
That explains a lot. I didn’t understand why he had not produced any new spits for FS2004. That is bad news indeed. 🙁

To be honest they don’t look as good as the FB spitfires IMHO. And the best Spits you can get for FS2002/CFS2 are the Paul Rebuffat ones. 😉
Yep, the Rebuffat Spits are curently the best for FS/CFS2.

That’s a nice Spit Chris.
FB I assume?

Chris,
I addressed some of my concerns to Bazzar from Aeroplane Heaven regarding problems with the 3D modelling, especially the MKIX. When compared to the screenshots of the other Spits, it certainly has the poorest shape with many mistakes, and after seeing the great job he’s done so far on PV202, I was rather surprised how poor it was.
I also pointed out the out of proportion roundels on some machines and the early style horn balance on the MKXIX. He says that he has taken my comments on board but also that the pictures we are seeing are from development so things like the horn balance will be corrected for the final build.
I just hope the MKIX gets remodelled! 😮
I do know for a fact that the cockpits will be super detailed and other parts like radio hatches & the mechanical flap & gear indicator’s etc. will be modelled so from that point they should be great. But at the same time I guess I would rather see an accurately shaped Spit than a inaccurate one with all the super detail.
Cheers

Looking at the screenshots above, Some of the angles look wrong and the proportions are a little out. Don’t get me wrong, i’m sure they have spent some time making these models, but i could instantly see fault with them. Now i will open up FB and drool. 😉

Just Flight frequently disappoint.
Their Mosquito Sim banged on about ‘Authentic recreation of Methwold airedrome’
Bollox.
IT never had just two runways at 90 degrees to eachother and the attempt to model the nearby village (promised again for Duxford, I see) was laughable.
I think their marketing people are tons better than their historical researchers.

I hope this pack is good because it is actualy designed together with Aeroplane heaven and they have provided realy superb addons for FS. I hope they don’t break with their tradition.
