AF Concorde 'Fox-Fox'

F-BVFF was about half way through a heavy maintenance check when it was announced that Concorde services were to cease. For several months afterwards she sat in the AF Concorde hangar in peices whilst a decision was taken on her future. I remember looking at her surrounded by overhauled components waiting to be fitted, only for them never to be used.

Eventually it was decided to donate it to the airport authority at CDG for display. She was roughly assembled and repainted. She was moved outside and has been sitting in the maintenace area not on public view ever since.

Yesterday she was towed from the maintenance area for the last time and moved on to a specially prepared area near the Hilton Hotel.

Sadly today she was mounted on ‘poles’ with a banked take off angle. How they are going to maintain her in the future now she stuck up in the air is open to debate.

These pictures were taken yesterday shortly before she was towed to the display area:

Great pics, I thought all the concs were scrapped!

Surely they have to do a Concorde II, I mean, come on!

Is it me or do they look sad?
whenever I taxi past the one at Heathrow it looks small and self-concious almost, it used to be the fastest/noisiest Ace of the Base, and now just sat there cordoned off….

It is difficult to articulate….either that or I am just talking complete Boswelox again….
