Afghanistan elections

I wonder how well the Taliban did, considering their support of womans rights and education, tolerance of homosexuals, Jews, free speech, non-Islamic religions, literature, music, kite flying, etc., not to mention the effort they made to promote justice, healthcare, land reform and urban renewal? 😀

A good day for the people but a long road ahead.

I wonder how this will be reported in the Islamic world?

Grey Area

Are you one of those who supported the pre 9/11 status quo in Afghanistan? No intervention because it will make things worse?

Hmmmm….. but the Taliban have crept quietly back into control of remote areas of the country, haven’t they? Bad news for the local heroin producers, if nothing else.

The road is probably considerably longer than you think, Sauron.

BTW, these elections were boycotted by all but 2 of Karzai’s 18 opponents on the grounds that the result was – ahem – pre-determined.

I wonder how that’s being reported in the US of A? :diablo:
